Education is a vital element of growth which gives knowledge, ideologies and values of life. For a society to attain its prime state in the education system, the schools, colleges, institutes and universities become inevitable elements. And if we examine the situation of education in Manipur, we see that primary and secondary level of education is in its prime with both government and private players doing their part. The schemes introduced in the recent past, viz. School Fagathansi Mission and No School Bag Day in the existing Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) schemes are some of the aides that drive education in this level further.
In the higher education level, there are more than 72 colleges under Manipur University itself, there are other various universities viz. Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Central Agricultural University, Manipur Technical University, Manipur University of Culture, Sangai International University and D.M. College which is also now a university, providing multiple career choices. Yet, the number of students going outside Manipur for further studies keeps increasing every year. So, in-order to retain more students in pursuing their higher education in the state itself, what would you suggest to make the academic environment grow better in Manipur?

I would like to highlight two points why students (particularly from the hill districts) go outside for education.
1. Bans, strikes, etc disrupting educational environment.
2. Use of Manipuri by teachers in colleges in and around Imphal.

Because of these two reasons, many students, irrespective of their family backgrounds, decided to study outside the state.
