वृक्षारोपण(plantation) का शाब्दिक अर्थ है, वृक्ष लगाकर उन्हें उगाना इसका प्रयोजन करना। प्रकृति के संतुलन को बनाए रखना, मानव के जीवन को सुखी, सम्रद्ध व संतुलित बनाए रखने के लिए वृक्षारोपण का अपना विशेष महत्व है। मानव सभ्यता का उदय तथा इसका आरंभिक आश्रय भी प्रकृति अर्थात वन व्रक्ष ही रहे हैं।
