नेशनल डॉक्टर्स डे का सेलिब्रेशन प्रसिद्ध चिकित्सक शिक्षाविद और बंगाल के दूसरे मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. बिधान चंद्र रॉय को और सभी डॉक्टर्स को सम्मान देने के उद्देश्य से किया जाता है। इनका जन्म 1 जुलाई 1882 को बिहार के पटना में हुआ था।
