Every year close to 300,000 women lose their life due to pregnancy or childbirth each year, while over 2 million babies die in their first month of life and around 2 million more are stillborn. As per the data from 2020, the infant mortality rate in Manipur is 6 deaths for every 1000 lives. And the maternal mortality rate as per the data from 2010-2011, is 64 – 80. This data is only through the accounted ones, as many went unaccounted, and unchecked.

The concern here arises is how safe are expecting mothers and their babies are. Join us in discussing this further, share your ideas and suggestions to improve the healthcare system in our State to improve the environment for an expecting mother, new mother and their new-born babies.
