Did You Know? Loktak Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in northeast India, plays an important role in the economy of Manipur. It serves as a source of water for hydropower generation, irrigation and drinking water supply. There are around 57 species of waterbirds and another 14 species of wetland-associated birds have been noted in the lake including 28 species of migratory waterfowl. #SaveWetlands #WorldWetlandsDay

देश मे वेटलैंड को बचाने के लियेसरकार को इनको अवैध कब्जों और इनके किनारों पर कंक्रीट के जंगल लगाने यानी निर्माण कार्यो पर रोक लगा देना चाहिये।झीलों तालाबो और नदियों के किनारे अवैध कब्जों ने इनके अस्तित्व पर सवाल खड़ा कर दिया है।वेट लैंड जो जलीय जीवजंतुओं के आश्रय स्थल है।इन्हें संरक्षित करने की ओर हर राज्य सरकार को ध्यान देना चाहिये।
