भारतीय किसान की संपत्ति क्या होती है?
एक किसान की प्रमुख संपत्ति भूमि है। एक तरफ जहां अर्थव्यवस्था का हर दूसरा वर्ग अपनी संपत्ति को बढ़ाना चाहता है और उन परिसंपत्तियों को अधिक उत्पादक और मूल्यवान बनाने के लिए निवेश करता है, वहीं जब किसान ऐसा करने का प्रयास करते हैं तो उन्हें निषिद्ध और दंडित किया जाता है।

अगर किसान नही होंगे तो खेती भी नहीं होगी और उद्योग भी नहीं होंगे यानि कि देश गरीब होता जाएगा। किसान हमारे देश की अर्थव्यवस्था का निर्माण करते है और अगर वही गरीब होगे तो देश प्रगति कर ही नहीं सकता। किसानों की प्रगति के लिए सरकार को उचित प्रबंध करने चाहिए। लाल बहादुर शास्त्री जी ने ”जय जवाम,जय किसान” नारे से किसानों का महत्व बताया है।

भारत संरचनात्मक दृष्टि से गांवो का देश है और सभी ग्रामीण समुदायों में अधिक मात्रा में कृषि कार्य किया जाता है, इसी लिए भारत को भारत कृषि प्रधान देश की संज्ञा भी मिली हुई है। लगभग 70% भारतीय लोग किसान हैं। वे भारत देश के रीढ़ की हड्डी के समान है।

हमारे स्वर्गीय प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री ने हमें ‘जय किसान, जय जवान’ का नारा दिया था । यह हमारे किसानों के महत्व को रेखांकित करता है, परन्तु अभी भी उनकी हालत बड़ी दयनीय है। उनकी इस दशा को सुधारने के हर संभव प्रयत्न किये जाने चाहिये।

अधिकतर भारत के किसान खेतीहर मजदूर हैं, या उनके पास बहुत थोड़ी जमीन होती है । कई बार वह जमीन भी अनुपजाऊ होती है । प्राय: सिंचाई के साधन का अभाव रहता है । वह जो कुछ उपजाता है, उसका उचित मूल्य नहीं मिलता । कई बार उसकी फलस बिकती नहीं और पड़ी-पड़ी सड़ जाती है ।

जब तक भारतीय किसान निर्धन और अशिक्षित है, तब तक देश की उन्नति नहीं कर सकता । हर तरह से उसकी सहायता कर उसको स्वावलम्बी और शिक्षित बनाया जाना चाहिये ।
